RAC PASSED 9 DAY RIFLE HUNT!

Post by HUNTIN FOR LIFE » Tue Nov 21, 2006 11:33 am

I have heard that the RAC pass the 9 day rifle hunt again for the southern region. From what i understand they are decreasing the amount of tags given out for the region and increasing back to 9 days. Has anyone heard the same or different and what are some opions on this.

I don'y like it.

The 5 day hunt is doing wonders for the deer herd.

Haven't heard myself. Wouldn't be surprised though if that is true.

Don't think it's a good idea either.

The only thing i think is possible a good thing is that they say that they are going to reduce the tags given out for the unit. I dont know but maybe that could reduce a little presure as far a people go.

yep they need to reduce A LOT of pressure, but I suppose a little would help too.

I think I'll go against the grain on this one and say that it won't hurt the herd all that much. I think that the drought had a bigger affect than anything else, then predators second. If it does go to 9 days, you can count on me coming down for the last 4 days. I think all the big fires in SW Utah the last few years will also help the winter range conditions.
There's always next year

I don't think I am a fan of going back to the nine day hunt but maybe there will be less pressure in the middle of the week so you can get out and really hunt.
