Post by loco4muleys » Fri Jun 22, 2007 7:57 am

Results for California deer come out Monday!! Anybody applying for any "good" hunts in Cali? I'm hopin to draw the late season Anderson Flat hunt, it might be one of the best hunts in California.

I'm hoping for an archery Tule Elk bull tag myself.....oh, and maybe a Goodale deer tag as well.....sheep or antelope would be nice too. Of course, I'll probably end up with the same as most years after the draw.....two archery-only deer tags. #-o

Just a Preference Draw for me this year, need to start building points for a tough draw we plan on applying for in a couple of years. Might do a little D Zone hunting.

Good Luck!

Wooooohooooo! I just found out from the nice lady at DFG that I just drew the most coveted tag in CA. G3 (Goodale) here I come. It will be a tough hunt though, as I'll be chaing them with my bow while the other 24 lucky hunters will be after em' with a rifle. The oddes of drawing this tag with MAX points was over 80-1......Come December 1st I'll be after them. If anyone has any info they are willing to share for this once-in-a-lifetime hunt, please pm me......I'm willing to exchange some hunt info. :thumb

Wish I had some info for ya, but CONGRATS my friend! Sounds like you have the odds stacked against you a bit. But if anyone can 'get er done' with the bow it would be YOU!

Is this during the RUT?

CONGTRATS bohntr!!!!! i think i saw that buck there in trophy hunter magazine?? anyway is it a any weapon hunt and your just deciding to use your bow?? And just for the record i truly beleive all the other 24 hunter will be at a dissadvantage, little do they know that the big deer killing machine is in their unit with his greatest weapon of choice! Good ld luck and cant wait for a pic or two.

I might (stressing the word might) go to wallyworld and get me a deer app for Zone D-8. I'd prolly have better odds if I spent the money on the lottery, and I wouldn't have to worry about taking a bullet from the illegals and the OTHER foreigners. I swear it's like vietnam in that zone and there's not even any deer. I don't know what the burn they shoot at. Prolly bald eagles and condors. :>/
I hunt Utah 'cause there's no deer in California!

Congrats BOHNTR, that's supposed to be the best tag in the state. Good luck, I'm sure you'll have some pics for us when it's all over with. How did you manage to get the results early? Do you have connections?
