Colorado Unit 3?

Post by loco4muleys » Wed Aug 08, 2007 11:52 am

Just wondering if anyone drew a tag for unit 3 around Craig, Colorado? It's got one of the highest deer populations in the country and it's one of my favorite places to hunt deer. Unfortunately, I'm not gonna be leavin California to hunt this year ](*,)
So now I'm curious to see if anybody else is gonna be huntin there?

I won't be hunting there this year, but I have 4 preference points for deer in Colorado and I am wandering what unit to apply for next year for a good muley. I have taken several smaller deer and am looking for that once in a lifetimer. Any ideas?

A late season 3 tag is a good one, as well is 54,55,551 & 10. To be honest almost every unit in the state of Colorado has nice bucks. Since we went with the 100% draw and cut the number of tags, our deer are looking great. :)

Now if they would just manage more units for better bull to cow ratios with an older age class we would have great elk hunting quality to go along with all ths quanity.

It amazes me how a state like Colroado is not taking advantage of the elk herd and managing for more trophy bulls.

There some some talk about all bull tags going to a draw like deer of course there would left overs still
