moon and road kill

Any one ever notice a relationship between different moon phases and road kill-if so-what would it be and when?

Well I'd think that there would be a bit more roadkill on a full moon night considering most roadkill happens during later hours and deer are out feeding on them.

You may say I am crazy, but I use a piece of software that I found on the web called, "Weather and Wildlife" that gives peak feeding times for big game and another section in there is for upland game. You can put in the zip code for where you are going. It has worked for me and I print off the data and take it with me on all my hunts. I used it on a muley hunt in Colorado and the deer were very active at the peak times it gave me. One day last year it said peak feeding time was at 4:00 p.m. on that particular day. I was whitetail hunting and got in the stand at 3:30. 20 minutes later a nice 4 x 4 whitetail walked right out in the field in front of me and I whacked 'em! This was late in the first week of the season after the deer were pressured. Coincidence.....I like to think not! Dang, now I gave out my secret to success. :))

I'd love to see that software also. Very cool!

As a Meteorologist/Oceanographer in the Navy, I make it a habit to check all the environmental data before hitting the hills. (I also use it a LOT when fishing).

I can tell you from experience that a lot of the data does indeed coincide. I have particular data thresholds/environmental episodes that I particularly look for depending on what I plan on hunting or fishing. Of course, animals will be animals and it doesn't ALWAYS work as planned, but it pretty dependable most times.

Here you go. It costs a few bucks but I like the way it works. http://www.weatherandwildlife.com
I think you can demo it on their site.
