must haves for backcountry questions...SPOT??

Post by muleywannabe » Mon Jun 27, 2011 5:33 pm

I am turning 30 here pretty quickly and my wife would like to get me a cool gadget for hunting and to keep in touch with her while I hunt the world(or so she says...LOL) I have been reading about the SPOT. Looks cool but know nothing about it. I want it to work for me in the mountains or in Alaska while hunting moose. Any suggestion on this product or something close? great idea for a gift but I want it to work for sure.

thanks guys...

My brother uses a spot when he rides his horses in the hills. It is pretty cool to be able to watch him working his way through the mountains on my computer. You can even see it in google earth.

He can also send an all is okay message each day so his wife doesn't worry if his spot doesn't move for awhile. :thumb
