My family has hunted for years and years but I don't think they ever took pictures as I've never seen any...except this one of a buck my dad took back in the late 60's.

It ain't the size of the gun but the placement of the bullet.

No, those aren't the same deer. The first is of me holding the rack of a buck my dad shot in 70, the second of the one he shot in 67, I believe. I just can't figure out how to work pictures and words together. Hey, I was that big in 1970, gimme a break!

Wow, i wasn't even a twinkle in my proud daddy's eye in 1970.

I agree with what AGCHAWK said. I dont care if it's family or not, I just really like to see what hunting was like in "the good ol' days". I dont have any old pics of my family's hunting experiences, but i'll have to do some digging. I seem to remember a pic of my dad back in the 50's or 60's with a nice buck laying across the hood of an old sedan. Mostly though my family was poor farmers and ranchers so they couldn't afford the luxuries that we take for granted today like a camera. But there have been plenty of stories passed down over the years.

here is one of my wifes granddad. i believe it was the early 60's. he is on the left and he won the big buck derby. he won a rifle. whats funny is he beat the guy who is holding the buck up in the back![ the bigger buck] it was measured with a "T" score, width+heighth[sp??], funny how score wasn't really even the same back in the good old days.

Awesome article Killer!

Funny, the guy that came is second does not look the least bit happy about it either! :))

Hiker, I think that the total score was 51 inches....if I read it right. (Height plus width of the rack)

I know these aren't old pics but they are of some of the bucks I have killed in the past. These are the only digital pics I have of deer I have killed.
