Arizona Hunters

Post by highcountryarchery » Sun Nov 13, 2011 12:19 pm

I am looking for people who live and hunt in arizona. I am moving down there next spring to start school at UTI in Phoenix and want to do some hunting while i'm down there. I don't know when to apply for the different species cause your draws are different than utahs. Any advice would be appreciated

Almost all of the units in Arizona have over-the-counter archery-only tags (you buy them at WalMart) that have three different time periods you can hunt......January, Aug/Sep, and the last two weeks of December. The two highly sought-after units (12, 13) are draw tags. As a resident, 12A is fairly easy to draw archery if you wanted to got that route as well.

But for now, when you mover there, you can hunt almost all of the desert units and some mountain units with an archery only tag. Rifle permits are all issued through the draw system.
