Google Earth Scouting
I don't recall where I saw it, but I remember a thread asking if anyone had ever seen actual big game animals while e-scouting on Google Earth (or another program of choice). Well tonight I was looking over an area that I had only glassed from a distance searching for ways to get into the area to place a camera this summer... those cream dots sure look like elk to me. I count 25 or so & on some I can clearly make out white rumps. Thoughts?

Ha! I'd say definitely. that's pretty crazy. Is there a way to tell what month/year the photo was taken?

Google Earth usually tells you the date at the bottom... this particular area was taken 8/12/2011.

Re: Google Earth Scouting
That's hilarious because I spend about an hour yesterday trying to find some big game on Google Earth and was curious if anyone else ever had... Great timing.

Well, I take solace in the fact that it is private property... but you can never be too cautious.JDavid wrote:Sure look like elk to me. I see the date but not the location. Well played sir, well played. Haha I would have done the same
