Aren't those nasty fat fish? I thought they were fun catching, as long as they were in your size range, any bigger and they were just a big log, especially if the bladder came out from being to deep. The only way I've found to cook them is smoking them, letting them drip the fat out of them and smoking them good.

Now that's what I'm talking about. The shirt, the hat, and BIG fish.

Very nice, thanks for sharing. Nice hat BTW. :)

I didn't ask you, were you trolling in the "Bay" or "Jiggin' "? Looks like the area around the boat ramp at Dutch John? And yes that is a nice mess of Mackinaw "Mack Pups". Lake Trout, Mackinaw..... and the Utah record is well over 50lbs.

"The cool, clear depths of Lake Flaming Gorge are ideal for growing enormous trout. These famous angling waters have produced fish of state and world record size, including: lake trout(Mackinaw) over 50 pounds, German brown trout over 30 pounds, and rainbow trout over 25pounds. Flaming Gorge also supports numerous cutthroat trout, kokanee salmon, small mouthbass, and channel catfish."

This is from an article on the "Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area" by the National Park Service.

If I remember right the lake is about 80+-miles long, never very wide.
