Couldn't believe what I was reading...

So I picked up a National Geographic recently and quickly flipped through it. A picture of a hunter and his dog caught my eye, so I decided to give the article a read. Much to my surprise, this article in the often liberal, often tree-hugging National Geographic was about as pro-hunting an article as I've read in any magazine besides hunting magazines. It talked about the different organizations (Ducks Unlimited, Rocky Mtn. Elk Found) and all the money they raised to help preserve the wildlife and about hunters' donations and attitudes towards trying to improve land so that none of the animals that naturally live there get pushed out. It even went so far as to say that by killing animals, hunters are helping the overall well being of that particular species! I didn't quite finish the article, but I gotta say I was very impressed at the positive perspective it had on hunting.
One does not hunt in order to kill; one kills in order to have hunted.
