Update on the restoration of my 92 Chevy

Post by AGCHAWK » Wed Jul 08, 2009 1:25 pm

I thought I would post some updated pics from this morning of the progress of the restoration of my beat up, dented, rusted, pealing 92 Chevy. I've been working on this since I returned from Iraq in August.

I know I posted pics before of the painting process but I will post some before and after pics of the truck so you can see the progress. The "before" pics are from Google street view so they are not the greatest but you will get the idea.

I installed the new grill, mirrors, and tail lights this morning. I am going to move onto the interior now that most of the outside is done, with the exception of some minor repairs and replacements. The engine, transmission, etc are also all complete so now I need to save a little cash to get the interior completed.

Hope you enjoy.

Nice looking truck Hawk, even if it is PURPLE!!! :))

Killer - Google has a fairly new map called Street View. Go to Google.com/maps and type in an address and it will give you the option of viewing the address from the street, granted the address has been entered into the system. Not all addresses are there, but it's cool. Makes me wonder how much they are paying to have someone drive all of theses streets with a 360 degree camera on their roof.

Great job on your project.

Ever notice how all the diet before and after photo's require scrutiny to determine if the before and after person is the same. They go to great lengths to make sure the same color shorts or swim suit is worn. Maybe you should put a pile of yard clippings in the bed of your truck for the after photo just so that we will know its the same truck lol

LOL....too funny, my friend! Trust me, it's the same truck.

79Ford....Purple?! Man, I think you need to get your eyes checked..LOL. That's blue my friend.

Thanks guys. I have had a lot of fun doing it and have learned a lot. I am toying with the idea of doing the interior myself (with help from the wife and kids) but will probably let a professional do that part. I know NOTHING about that and really don't want to mess it up at all. However...again, we did everything ourselves up to this point so it would be a shame to let someone else finish it. Hmmmm....
