A good rainbow for my 9 year old

Post by NotEnufTags » Sat Sep 10, 2016 8:34 am

We went camping as a family over labor day. We caught a lot of fish. I had my nine-year-old out on the canoe with me. He had caught 6 fish on his own. It's so nice when your kids get old enough to actually fish and you don't spend your entire time untangling, rebating, retying hooks, etc. We'll fish 7 for him started with "Dad, I think my hook is stuck". I saw the pole move and told him nope reel it in. It was fun to watch his story grow as we walked back to camp with his fish. Each of the other camps stop him and ask about it. He was shy at first but confident by the time we got back to our camp.

"Some day I'll scout out a monster, spot him while hunting, make the stalk of a lifetime, and have dreams come true. 'Til then I'll be happy with the buck in my cross-hairs."

Congrats to your son! He has the makings of becoming a true fisherman as the story grew on the way back to camp! How long was that brute?
It ain't the size of the gun but the placement of the bullet.
