ANTELOPE UNITS

Post by shedhunter » Sun Feb 13, 2005 10:07 pm

Hey fellas! I have never hunted antelope and was wondering from those that do, what units seem to produce good bucks in your state? And do they offer an archery tag for anteope in the unit? I know some people are pretty tight about their units, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Shorty is right there are some real nice units out around Vernal. I drew a tag in 2000 for the Anthro unit. The thing I like about those units is that most of them have oil wells all over them. This makes it so that you can go just about anywhere and not have to get off the road to far to scope thing out. Saw a few real nice antelope out there when hunting bunnies.

Montana's archery antelope laws seem to be quite hunter friendly, check it out.

The Bonanza unit has some great goats in it, I believe the state record was from the SW unit. I have always had good luck on 3-corners and South cache/North Rich unit.

Wyoming by far has the most Pronghorns then any state and most of their units have some great bucks.
