2009 Utah Plateau antelope
Hi,
I'm a new member who just hunted antelope in Utah's Plateau unit. Overall the hunt was great with plenty of mature bucks seen everyday. If you want a nice goat for the wall, this is your hunt. If you want in the boone&crockett books, I would look somewhere else. The buck that I ended up picking out was 14" tall and green scored a perfect 74 with no deductions! He is one of the best looking bucks I have ever seen. My friend shot a really thick 13.5" buck with cool ivory tips.

Awesome springville shooter. Congrats on a nice goat.
I never put in for utah antelope because of the dificulty in getting LE elk and Deer tags. Utah doesn't let you put in for more than one LE elk deer or lope. My question to you is are you so lucky that youre on a waiting period for elk and deer or was antelope your passion and first choice to go after?

Re: 2009 Utah Plateau antelope
I started putting in for Utah antelope 3 years ago before I ended up getting a Job in utah. I chose antelope because of the ease of draw and because of the rediculous odds of drawing a buck or bull tag then for an out-of-stater. Now OOS hunters can build points for all species, but when I started that was not the case. I am not sure what I will save points for next, probably bull elk. Mule deer is definately my favorite game, but I don't believe that utah offers good enough hunts to warrant the wait for one of the draw deer tags. Right now, I can draw the zone I love in Nv every 2-3 year guanranteed and the deer herd is in the best shape its been in my time hunting there. I think that Wyo offers better deer hunts for the wait as well.
