I totally agree with what has been said about shooting sticks. I haven't tried them during a big game hunt yet, but I'm thinking this fall may be the time. I saw an article in Outdoor Life recently on how to make DIY shooting sticks for around $10 or less depending on if you had certain things around the house. I threw some together and they worked great for sitting shots at rock chucks!

They worked great - I was able to sit and see over the taller pasture grass. I'll see how these hold up for now and maybe I will upgrade to a nicer set.
