Can you score him for me
Hey all. I thought I would try to post these two bulls on here to get your opinion on a field score.
I haven't scored any bulls but started wondering what they were. The first picture is me with my first and only bull, the second is a friend with his.

Re: Can you score him for me
Just off of the cuff I would score the top bull at around 288" and the lower bull at around 328". A little different angle would make it a little easier. That lower bull has huge fronts on him.
Both of them are beautiful bulls, congratulations to both of you.

Re: Can you score him for me
Guessing from photos is way hard and inaccurate... but I'd guess the top bull to be around 270-280 and the lower at 315-325. Both great looking bulls. Congratulations!

Re: Can you score him for me
Sorry if I led you astray as I don't have the score for either bulls. I have mounted the first one, but he sits in storage as until I get back from Afghanistan. I will find out when I get back. Thanks for your input though. I am trying to figure out how to look at one and try determine the scores.

Elk Hunting the West, the Eastman Way is a book that has a pretty good guideline for field scoring bulls. I am not sure if there is one posted anywhere else but that book has some good pointers. More or less if i remember correctly compare his fronts to how close/past his nose they are and then look at mass, width, and main beam length. Best practice is to look at bull kill pictures and compare to their actual score. Some guys have it down to a science and can get within 5 points from field to actual tape. Stay safe while over seas.
