Youth any bull elk hunt

Post by mtnmn44 » Thu May 01, 2008 6:41 pm

My son drew this year. It is his last year for youth tags and we are very excited. He is looking for a good bull and is not concerned about a monster. Somthing up to a 330 would be nice. We are going to be looking at area's around Kamas, Hanna, Moon Lake and Red Cloud Loop above Vernal. I am familiar with the Red Cloud Loop area but have not been out there for several years so I don't know much about the elk population and quality of bulls. I would also be interested in the north slope. If anyone has any info and is willing to share it would be appreciated. Thanks

You could try around Hoop lake on the North Slope, there are alot a elk in that area. There are some good elk out on the flats and deep canyons to the S.E. of the Red Cloud, right along the Diamond mnt. border or at least there used to be. (???)
There's always next year
