Great story with some beautiful pics to go along with it. Congrats again on a fine animal. I guess your buddy still has bragging rights but you still got one heck of a bull.

Sometimes it isn't so much the bull that makes the trophy, more often it is the hunt itself that makes it a trophy! Great story, way to share it with your kid! Start 'em early in the right direction!!

Thanks everyone for the comments, It makes me feel alot better. I am so glad that my son was able to make it on the hunt. He was so funny when we were gutting and skinning him, the coyotes were howling like crazy and he was worried sick that they were going to eat the elk, so we built a little fire and gave him a stick and told him to be the watch dog and scare the coyotes away if they came in. He lasted about 5 min and was out like a light,as it was about midnight. lst year we found out he was allergic to deer hair, he was with my dad when he shot a little buck, we had him sitting on the deer for pictures and stuff. Well like 1 hour later his eyes and throat were swollen shut luckily benedryl did the trick. Now we carry Epi-pens just in case. Elk hair must not affect him or maybe he was allergic to something else and not the deer.

Once again thank you for your comments (its tuff to compete with ole spidey)...

DIRTBIKERCR250: no need to even try to compete with spidey, you got a great bull yourself! i have a buddy who is allergic to deer hair but not elk hair at all. when he shoots a deer someone has to take care of it for him.[luckely i'm always gone :)) ]
