Elk CO Unit 21 22 30 31 32

I have an elk tag for CO in units 21 22 30 31 32. I will be hunting the first rifle season. I am going to go scout next month, but I have never even been to CO. I was hoping someone might let me know which unit is best or at least a starting point to begin scouting. Any idea on where to start would be helpful.

Well those units are in my neck of the woods. I unfortunatly don't know which would be best for 1st season. I live in Unit 32 and would recommend going with 21 or 22. 31 is where I turkey hunt and there are nice muleys there but have yet to see an elk there. Alot of orange in this area and alot of BLM land.
I suggest going to the DOW website and checking last years harvest statistics.

Thanks for the help. Do you have any suggestions on where to go. I was thinking about trying just north of the garfield line and just a little west of unit 22 in unit 21.
