Re: Utah nonres Cow Elk Tags???
I had the late Dutton tag 2 years ago, it was a pain and I never filled the tag. Elk were very high, snow made access difficult.
If I was to do it again, I'd go for Southwest Desert...friend had the tag the same year as me and was able to shoot his from pretty much the truck/road. Maybe he got lucky, but he said it wasn't difficult. I've never hunted it myself, but just some thoughts.

Believe it or not... it's easier for a non-resident to get a cow elk tag throughout most of the state than for us residents!

I would not put in for this tag in 2012 as Residents are only being allocated 120 tags this year, I drew the tag last year and there are plenty of elk, but it will be hard to draw this tag in 2012. But who knows you might get lucky.highcountryarchery wrote:everywhere is a long ways to vegas, i live near the boulder unit it has a good chance to fill a tag if you can draw one this year

Living in vegas he probably knows how to do that haha. I agree though getting a tag almost anywhere takes a lil luck

I notice I put residents are being allocated 2012 tags on the above post, the real number is 120.
