I'm looking to hunt the nine mile anthro west region for antlerless in October. Anybody have any experience finding the cows down there? From what I have been able to squeeze off of the interwebs, there is Elk down there you just have to scout a lot to be sure that you know where and when they are moving. Pretty heavy duty terrain, lots of people, pretty much the vibe I have been getting. If anybody knows of some good spots where they hold in the early winter I'd greatly appreciate it!
Hunted the area for years and was very successful but they made it Anthro West and most of the elk cross the road and are out of the hunting boundary. I bought that tag last year figuring I could find a cow and in 5 days of hunting saw 3 mature bulls. Only saw one cow taken during my hunt. That's why there are some permits still left.
