Live elk camp Broadcast

Post by elkslayer338 » Mon Oct 08, 2007 8:57 pm

Howdy HI all and I hope you are having a great fall! Once again it is time for the yearly Elk hunt This year if all goes as planned and the equipment makes it up the trail to camp, I will be broadcasting from the Melrose Elk Camp at 10,000,00 ft on the west slope of Colorado. I have a new " Insured " laptop LOL and a ATT GSM card to hook into the net so that I can upload live or taken video from that day. We will be in camp for fifteen day's so I have added a portable 14 Wat 12 volt solar array to my existing solar set up for camp. this should keep the laptop up and running provided we have some sun. The antenna booster I picked up for my cell phone last year fits the ATT card so I should be able to get a signal in camp " HOPE ". I will report on the weather conditions elk count and hunting camp news. Should be a lot of fun to watch but I may not get time to do much if we have lots of snow or if we have few Elk on the game pole I will be too busy hunting, Feeding horses and doing camp work. I will Start posting on the way to Colorado in five days. if you would like to see the broadcast check my page daily for up dates starting the 14th and aired on my stikcam player.

If all goes well I will get my elk opening day " NEVER HAPPENS LOL " so I can do video and post news

Feel free to stop by Camp http://206.192.23.209/index.php/public/ ... elkslayer/

Thanks for the words of encouragement. This may be the last hunt with my Dad along so its kinda special to me and I would like to share their way of camp life with you all. Its important we preserve our heritage and help promote hunting and fishing as much as possible, using all forms of communication at are means. With a whole new generation of Hi-tech Rednecks emerging we can really do a lot of promotion of are loved sports as well as entertain/ educate with emerging technologies. This is definitely going to be tough to pull off but if she works it will be a glimpse at what elk camp is all about team work, camaraderie, self sacrifice and ohh lets not forget the Great Food LOL

Hope it works and I can let it run for a few hours a day we always have elk and Mule deer cross by camp and last year a Mt lion came within 100 yds of the tent and horses so if I mount the came on the ridge pole of the tent you might see some critters. If the weather is fair I will lug it to my favorite hunting spot and see if we can capture the hunt Live for a while.

if you have a question or suggestion on live footage of camp please send us a message in camp and we will read them off in a report

Word in from The Melrose first season tag. My uncle and Danno member of the camp for 5 years went in to get his bull and this morning opening day he shot a big 6x6 " for Colorado" I will have pics in a day or two. My uncle got bucked off hit his head and popped some fingers loose and went to ER last night when they were packing in " Dang horse wrecks get you every time" Unc"s ok and road back into camp at midnight not bad for 75 LOL
