Rattling Mulies
Rattling work with mulies, or only whitetails?

Re: Rattling Mulies
I made two videos (don't have them anymore) of bucks I rattled in about 8 years ago just because everyone told me it couldn't be done. I did it in a trophy unit where there was a large population of mature bucks. I tried it for a full month and it finally started working during the week of Thanksgiving. The first was a badly busted up 4 point who came running in and stood there like a punch drunk fighter looking for a brawl. The next was a 5X5 who came wandering in after 20 minutes. It will work but the deer were pretty goofy to begin with by then and easy to locate. I've tried it where there were few bucks and it failed miserably. It would be a fun thing to do during a rut hunt but no more productive than glassing.

I rattled in a buck 3 years ago right around thanksgiving as well. This 20 inch four point left a doe to come look for the fight. I was in the pinon and junipers. He walked around looking for the other bucks within 40 yards as close as 5 for at least ten minutes. I should draw a 4th season CO tag next year but I doubt I will try any rattling.
