OTC zona tags for deer

Post by itawes » Sun Jul 31, 2011 5:51 pm

I am coming from out of stateand will be in flagstaff for the 2nd week of early archery deer season and will be willing to hunt within a few hours in any direction. my goal is to harvest a nice deer, doesnt need to be huge, just want to fill my freezer. I will be hunting alone and willing to hike in and bivy for a few days. any general help or suggestions would be great, i am not looking for anyone to point out thier honeyholes or x marks the spot and i dont mind doing the work with the maps and boot leather. thank you

I have hunted az for a few years now with archery equipment only living 2 hours from flagstaff know the area very well but for deer they are hard to hunt in unit 6 but a few areas for you to look at would be the williams area unit 10 around kiabab lake if you want to hunt in the pine trees if your more spot and stalk i would stay lower in unit 21 toward dougas road and even more south tho the desert can be hot then there are deer and more mature deer good luck.
