Bowtech or Diamond?

Post by MuleyFreak » Tue Mar 20, 2012 7:50 pm

Right now, I am in the process of choosing a new bow, and am trying to decide between the Diamond Outlaw and the Bowtech Assassin. I have shot both, and they both shoot about the same. The only I am not so sure about is the single cam on the Outlaw. My last bow was binary cam, and I feel more comfortable shooting a binary cam. The Bowtech is around $100 more than the Diamond. What do you guys think, Bowtech or Diamond?

I'd choose the Bowtech. But don't let the single cam scare you. I've shot Mathews bows for four years and recently picked up a Bi-cam Strother SX1. I think the Assasin is single cam though. But don't worry about it.

I love my assassin. The RAK package isn't the greatest but you can upgrade that overtime (i'd start with the rest). For a guy on a budget, it's hard to beat the assassin.

I shoot a Diamond The Rock which I think was replaced by the Outlaw. I love my Diamond and since switching my rest to the QAD UltraRest HDX it's even better! It is a quality bow, in every aspect, right down to the strings. Compare it's quality of build and finish to bows that are far more expensive and it looks every bit as good. The difference between Diamond and Bowtech is single cam vs dual cams. I read that single cam bows are easier to tune...which ever you decide upon, I'm sure they're both great bows.
Diamond - The Rock, 60LB at 26" draw, 369 grains at 250fps - Love it! :)
