This year I am going to be hunting antelope in Colorado with my bow. I was wondering how people hunt antelope with a bow. Or any tips any one has for me.

I would recommend hunting the third week of September(if Colorado archery season allows) when the speed goats are in rut. Use a decoy..I have taken two pronghorn's by bow with a decoy...one scored 77 4/8". There is nothing like the adrenalin rush when the speed goat comes running... straight to the decoy from 100 yards. Get ready when the speed goat stops you have just a few seconds to let the arrow fly. Good luck.

I have used a couple of decoys:

The Mel Dutton collapsible decoy, great for taking with you on a plane to your hunting destination. I have had modest results with the Mel Dutton decoy.

When I drive to the hunting destination I take a 3 dimensional full body antelope decoy. I can't remember the name of the manufacturer. A buddy of mine rifle shot a small buck and gave me the horns a few years ago and I epoxied some screws in the base of the horns. I can screw the horns in the head of the antelope doe when the goats are really in rut and challenging small spike bucks. The full body decoy definitely works better. I have the option of using a doe decoy when the bucks are curious and a buck decoy when the bucks are in rut and challenging.

If you are talking about a full body antelope decoy, I believe the only company that ever made one was Flambeau. I don't believe they make it anymore.

Theres a carry-lite decoy in the Cabelas archery cat.

What do yall think. Looks lot more realistic than the mel dutton model.
