Yea know killer, I had never heard the song until you mentioned it.

I liked it so much that I used it as the soundtrack to the video I posted in the campfire section. I really fit the video well.

i dont know how i skipped that post, but i just went a checked it out, awsome for starters and yes, great choice of back ground music! i'm by no means the most die hard "NUGE" fan[ although after getting the fred bear buzz i've really came around] but that is the single greatest hunting song of all time! sometimes i think if i could just get on a bull, seconds after listening to "fred bear", i wouldn't need my bow--- i would just run him down, bull dog him to the ground, and knife him! :thumb

LMHO! Well, if ya do something like that make sure that you have a buddy filming the whole thing. I'd crap myself if I saw someone do that!

Yea, I think "The Nuge" is a bit off-kilter myself but I love the song!

Everyone that has mentioned the "thrill of the unknown" is spot on! I can't wait to see what's over the next ridge. I envision that big buck or bull standing with his head down feeding as I crest that ridge or get to my glassing point. Finding new places to take my girls hunting is some pretty good motivation too.

As I get older it's not so much what time I get up or where I am going, it's the appreciation for the ability, both physically and mentally, to hike up that draw or sitting in the dark listening to those crisp growling bugles in the morning. It's a pretty neat thing that we all get to experience and I thank God every day for the opportunity.

I do it cause I like mule deer better than I like people. And the mule deer season is longer.
