All my loadings have been with 168 match kings using 4064, RL 15, and Varget with most around 40 grains or atad higher ( Always start 10 % lower and work up confirming loads through factory sources) pushing 2700fps. All mine have been very good accurate loads.

The Varget got me higher velocites with RL15 and 4064 comming in about 50-75 fps slower.

Always liked 165gr nosler Solid Base pushed by 43.5gr of IMR4064 get around 2625. I still have about 1000 solid base bullets left. Not sure if the newer nosler’s will perform the same.
Nail driver of a combo for MY rifle, not sure how your’s will like it.

Start around 42 and work up, should have no pressure trouble with this load.

Have fun with your 308

You might wanna try some Berger VLD hunting bullets for extended range. I think they also come in 168gr which is the natural for 30 cal.

My favorite bullet has been the 165gr Hornady for a long time. Powder doesn't seem to matter a lot so long as it's a med rate. I've used IMR3031, Win748, BLC/2, and IMR4064, all with great results. I think 4350 is just to slow. I tried it once with not so good results compared to the other powders.

I loaded up some horn AMAXs in 168 over 48 gr of IMR 4350,this load shoots GREAT out of my VTR,first trip out with it I didnt shoot a group that wasnt MOA or better.Shot it at 300 and 525,right on the money.BTW i use mag primers on the 4350 load, not sure if it makes a diff but I doubt I could beat this load for accuracy with this bullet.
