is blackhorn 209 powder as good as they say it is. i'm using trying triple seven magnum right now. a lot of articles say it is superb.

There is so much good stuff out there nowadays. I've heard the same thing about Blackhorn. I tried Triple 7 and to tell the truth, I seem to shoot better with Pyrodex. I love the simplicity of it too. This is what makes Muzzleloader hunting so fun. Seems like each rifle is different and it's nice to find that "Dope" that works well with it. I also wanted to say I want to try those whitehots. Guy at the store was really trying to push those on me. Best of luck.

I have tried a lot of different powders over the last 35 + years. and Triple 7 pellets is all i use now it is clean, hot, and it always goes BANG when i pull the trigger in rain sleet or snow.

just figured id add to the confusement but i heard of a new one called "white hot" dont quote me 100% but thats what i recall.... it was supposed to be the next new best. might be worth a shot?
