Unique Set from last weekend!

Post by pushin_30 » Sat Apr 04, 2009 11:50 am

So last weeked my buddy and I decided to hit an area we have always wanted to shed hunt. Not ten minutes into the hike I spotted what looked like a good brown shed. Boy was I suprised to see it was only a MASSIVE MONSTER 2 point when I walked up to it.

It looked like this area just might pay off. I looked around for a while unable to turn up the other side. So I continued up the mountian. When I finally met back up with Russ and the top of the mountain and showed him what I had turned up, his reaction was well lets go look for the other side since were not finding anything up here. After making our way back to were I had originally picked up the big 2, we split up and started circling. 30 minutes later I hear him start hootin and hollering so I made my way over to him. Was I ever superised to see him hold a gaint brown 4 with a huge eyegaurd.

He said now we have two to match up. I could tell right away that it was in fact the match to the big 2 I had found earlier that morning. Sure enough it was, definetly not what we expected but after close examination of the burrs and other characteristics it is a match. It looks like the big 2 was damaged in the velvet just before spliting off the main beam. Definetly one of the those sets that you would have to see on the head to know for certain. But it turned out to be an awesome day and the new area payed off, has we were able to find 8 sheds total and 2 brown sets.

Any set find is awesome, a unique set find is all the better. Congrats.
