This deer is actually a blacktail. He was shot In the Coloma area. he has to be scored as a mule deer. I seen the guy drop it off at the butcher and the deers hanging wiight was only 77 lbs. He may have been a hybrid but he sure looked like a blacktail and his tail and tarsal glands screamed blacktail. the hunter was a kid who was grinnin from ear to ear. Congrats Dude

This animal was investigated and found to have been bought by Mr. Houston off of e-bay. ALL his animals (shown in the photo section) were acquired by means of a computer. As a result, he has been banned from ALL records programs (CBH, P&Y, B&C) and also the state archery association. This is NOT the CA state record……

that is unreal i have hunted hunted cali d5 and have never seen a buck with half that rack!
