This deer was taken in Utah in the Salt Lake City area. *Gary, This is a beautiful buck, i wont tell anyone where you got it. Ill keep it a secret, but do me a favor and get his twin "Righty" next year! Good luck!
Gary that is a whopper of a buck. I have seen several deer up in that area that would make a grown man cry. I believe that some of the biggest deer in the state live up in those mountains. I lived on the foothills of the wasatch for 25 years and spent many exciting days up there. I assume this was taken this year? Anyway keep up the great hunting and thanks for sending in the great picture. If you are willing to write an article about it I have a client that would be more than willing to put it in their publication.
Tremendous buck! Hell, tremendous photo and scenery for that matter. Whether you harvested with a bow or rifle it doesn’t diminish the beauty of that rack. I am curious though did you get him with a bow Gary?
Yes, used a bow. General Season over the counter tag, Do it yourself hunt.
The use of a $500 spotting scope from Nikon, and some crappy binoc’s from some no namer brand. However, they are my most prized equipment. I live and die by my spotting. I have buddies that make fun of me. One guy I met while spotting and we both scored good bucks this year. Putting in the time. Even after the season ended, I have been out spotting… It’s really a past-time hobby for me. I can still take em with a digital camera.
I used my Hoyt Cybertec with GoldTip Ultra 400 carbon arrows, RockyMountain TI100’s,
Wife just picked up a bow at Sportsman Archery for the first time. Took my three boys and the whole family was getting into it. My wife was shooting a grouping of 4-6 inches on her first experience with bow. She made the mistake of acting interested in going bowhunting this year. If she follows through with it… it will definitely be another great year just having her out in the hills… until my boys are old enough to go tag along. For now.. Scouting and shooting are about their limit. Hopefully I’ll be posting her first buck up here next year.
Thanks for all the comments. It’s been a fun year. Going to pick up the mount at the end of the month and bring him home. My office/den is waiting for him.
