I like it, I’ve hunted oregon all my life, mostly eastern, let me know where you dropped that bad boy, i’m thinking ochocos?

I jumped him in the beulah unit, northwest corner. He was bedded down with a couple of does at 10:30am when they all ran. I thought this one was a freakin elk when i got him in my crosshairs.

I can’t believe you shot this nice buck and how quick you were! You couldn’t even get your gun up to shoot at the first three bucks that I put yo9u on. Anyway, I am very proude of the buck you shot and it was quick. Call me if you get another tag.

Yeah I passed on the first 3 bucks we saw, but gimme a break, this was my first deer hunt. Besides, in hindsight those first 3 were wayyyy smaller than this guy. And folks, THE GUIDE is actually my friend Jim who likes to hunt–and then almost fall into the burning campfire when he drinks!

ok, beulah, so i was kinda close, hes a dandy and im glad you got him, nice buck, is he hanging in the house? what he score?

Guest

He is hanging in the house, and it’s a beautiful mount. Artistic taxidermy did a fantastic job. I scored him myself a few months ago and I think he went somewhere in the 160’s, but don’t quote me on that, he hasn’t been "officially" scored yet.

nice buck. I took a 187 buck out of the ironside area last year, a little east of you. there has been a serious decline in deer numbers in that area lately. buy your cougar tags!

Trust me. If I see a bear or a cat when hunting this year, it’s gettin taken out of the gene pool!
I’m tired of predators killing deer and elk, that’s our job. Those hippies in PDX can stick their votes where the sun don’t shine. Bring back the hounds!!!
