"Old School" picture

Here is a pic of my Father when he was a kid in his 50's, obviously he was learning hunting at an early age. With 8 boys in the family, they had some great times each year. Only sad part is they took the horns to the dump each year. #-o

And they killed some nice bucks.

Great snapshot there!! They did not care as much about the horns as they did the food it was putting on the table!

And a lot of them never even made off the mountain....they de-boned the meat and left everything else....especially Elk racks.

Thanks for the photo.

The above pic is of me when I was 5 or 6 years old. My brothers and I were raised in the hunting crowd, as you can see. Thanks, Brett, for posting the pic.

Brett,

Its amazing what kind of emmotions a picture can bring out. Even if somone has no involvment with the subjects in the picture. When I saw the picture of your dad, I thought he bore an extreme resemblance to my middle son. As I get older I realize how important pictures are and how many times they will get looked at as we get older. I doubt I would have ever known the importance of "kids in the field" without having my own. I can see from some of the "old time" pictures that back in the day, alot of old timers knew how important it was even back then.

The picture is great, and I am certain your dad remembers every second about that picture being taken. Thanks for the pic!
