05' BUCK HOME AND ON THE WALL

JUST GOT MY MOUNT DONE FROM MY 05' IDAHO BUCK. I WANTED TO DO SOMETHING A LITTLE DIFFERENT. SO I USED SOME AFRICAN MAHOGANY, LAMINATED IT UP, AND A BUDDY OF MINE WITH A CNC ROUTED OUT THE PROFILE OF IDAHO. LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK. I TOLD MY WIFE, WHO REALLY LIKES THE MOUNT, I ONLY HAVE SIX MORE STATES TO GO!! THAT DIDN'T GO OVER TOO WELL.

Do I like it?? I LOVE it, I never seen the state mount idea before. I think you have a brilliant idea there and many will want to do the same.

ANYONE NEED A STATE? I HAVE ACCESS TO VARIOUS HARDWOODS, BOTH EXOTIC AND DOMESTIC. MY BUDDIES CNC MACHINE CAN PUNCH OUT ANY STATE.

I WANT TO FILL OUT THE WALL WITH NEVADA, UTAH, COLORADO, WYOMING, MONTANA, AND OREGON. I MIGHT NEED A BIGGER WALL.

PRICE AND SIZE WOULD DEPEND ON THE STATE YOU WANT, AND WHAT SPECIES OF WOOD YOU WANT IT MADE OUT OF. 34"X34" IS THE LARGEST BLANK I CAN PUT ON THE CNC TABLE. SO IT WOULD HAVE TO BE A MAX OF 30" X 30". MY CUT OUT OF IDAHO IS 26" WIDE X 32" TALL. I CAN GO A LITTLE TALLER WITH IDAHO BECAUSE THE PANHANDLE IS SO NARROW. SQUARE STATES LIKE MONTANA, OR OREGON WOULD BE DIFFICULT TO GET ANYTHING BIGGER THAT 30".

I don't think that would work out for any of my bucks, being as they have all been taken from Colorado. I figure folks would figure I just got a piece of wood and didn't even out the sides too well. But it definitely works for all other western states except Wyoming!

Cool! I also stated using state shaped plaques several years ago. Have NM, Arizona and Colorado. Hope to ad Wyoming this year. Nice mount and a darn good deer!

 what about Arizona, New Mexico and Texas...these states have great mule deer as well
