Here's my 2009 buck from the Colorado high-country. Not long points, as he's a fairly old buck that's regressing (he had a dime sized ear tag that gave me exact age from CDOW) with some great mass (20" per side). He's 29.5" wide and sports 4" G1's (eye-guards) along with a 3" in-line between his left G2 & 3. He'll score in the low 170's gross and will net in the 160's.
I arrowed him in the late afternoon and hit him a bit further back than I'd like (liver)......he ran straight down-hill out of the open tundra and into the timber-line. I let him go over-night and found him piled up about 200 yards from where I arrowed him. One TOUGH pack out for sure......a lot of meat and sore feet. More photos to come.

Like the mass, width, and inline. Great buck, lets see more photos when you have time and hear the stories.
I seem to blow it every time I'm close, need more patience.

Congrats on an awesome looking buck. 10sign: Just one more to add to your trophy room (or house) as that room must be getting pretty full.
I'm telling you, I'm just a lucky guy is all. Here's the story:
I'd like to say how I spotted the buck a mile away and stalked all day to get into position and made a great shot.......but that wouldn't be true.
Fact is, I had just completed my late afternoon meal of Mountain House Beef Stroganof at my temporary hacienda and decided to begin my hike to a vantage point I've been using to glass in the late afternoon. I walked about 50 yards from camp and looked 100 down the open ridge I was camped on and saw him bedded in the wide open. I couldn't believe it.....told you guys I was lucky.
A short stalk later, I was within 40 yards.....but he was now standing behind one of the few trees around. I maneuvered my way around and decided not to hug the front shoulder, as it was close to some small branches. I usually make pretty good shots, but this one was a bit further back than I would have liked.......through the liver. After locating my arrow and confirming the shot location, I decided to leave him over-night and track him in the morning since he headed straight down the STEEP hill and into the timber.
The next morning, I located him about 150-200 yards from where I arrowed him. After my partners were done with their morning hunt, they found me and shared the loads back to camp. That was easy pack......the pack out to trail head with all the meat, cape, and antlers was much tougher! That's about it......the rest of the week was spotting for my hunting partners and enjoying God's country.
