2006 Sonora Buck

I'm a new member, but an avid, died in the wool mule deer fanatic. I hit the holy gail last December, 2006. My buck grosses over 212" B&C and nets (officially) 204 6/8" Truly the buck of a lifetime.

Thanks fellas. He was 35 1/8 outisde, 31 1/8 inside on main beam, best back was 22". Official scores were 212 6/8 gross and 204 6/8 net B&C. If I can find the time I'll probably score him SCI also because I think he'll make all time Top 10 right now.

 Don't mean to hijack the tread...so I will be quick...lol. I have been busy with work. I also moderate on a few different duck hunting forums. I usually kinda concentrate of on them birds in the winter. I am back for the summer and fall...lol

Thanks to all of you for the kind words. That was my first trip down there....been wanting to for 10 years. I hunted with Rich LaRocco @ hunts.net. Can't say enough good things about him. I would love to post another picture or two but don't really know how. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks again.

Physically is was one of the easier hunts I've been on. I didn't have to tradk the deer through the desert. High rack vehicles are probably the best way (as I did). This particular ranch was very flat, with nothing to get elevation to glass. There was a vast variety of brush and numerous trees which makes seeing them very difficult. The Mexican guides are unbelievable at seeing deer. Weather was absolutely perfect. Odds are I won't ever get a shot at a deer like this again, I would love to go back and try. It gets in your blood for sure, knowing there are some giant deer in that area.

I didn't want to come acroos as some arrogant know it all type. I thought the article in Hunting Illustrated was very well done. It's amazine what they can do with the layouts and stuff. Thanks for all the replies. Oh yeah, It'll also be in the May issue of Muley Crazy....
