well.... not a lot of major things..

We are leaving on Tuesday to Arizona for a week to my Son's baseball tournament, while we are there we are going to catch some Angels spring training baseball games.

then to St George over Easter weekend for our 2 oldest son's baseball tournaments.

in April their Baseball seasons begin, so 2 double headers every Saturday! so not much time for anything else major, until mid June, then the Orem Owlz baseball season starts! =D>
then have more tournaments over the summer! including Steamboat Springs Colorado! :thumb
(can u tell we like baseball?? lol lol )

then going to go scouting for elk! dang.. when does the draw results come out??? plus hopefully more when we do find out we drew... please no rejection letters.. getting tired of them!!! ](*,) ](*,)

I'll be going on a 5 day camping trip to Capital Reef in two weeks. Then take a week for the elk rifle hunt and muzzleloader deer. I'm sure something will come up during the summer but mostly weekend overnighters here and there. Lots of yard work to do this year. Need to at least put in a front yard and get a good garden going for the kids to work on.

It kind of depends on what tags we draw. There's 4 of us now applying, and if we even draw a small percentage we are going to be busy.

Upon returning (30 days left here) the CIC House (Commander in Charge of the House) gets the first 72hrs, then down to Quemado NM for 3 days of coyote hunting and trout fishing, a little scouting see how the elk are looking, back to the house and reload with different equipment day of rest. Off to Durango Co. for a couple of days for some hiking and fishing, see some old friends. That will leave 5 days before starting back to work, rest and relax at home, get ready for the trip to Asia in May. :>/
Aug is Oryx, Oct is deer, and end of Oct is Elk.

Next year is the Big Vacation Year April 1st 2009 means Retirement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

M. Bird, Are you going to apply for any of the NM "Military" hunts? Only a year away from retirement, :thumb Do you plan on staying in NM after this stint is over?

Aside from the usual fall hunting trips, we'll probably spend some time up in Tahoe during the summer and, Lord willing, do some salmon fishing in B.C. come August.

Up at Lake Tahoe, are you going for the lake trout, or just up there for the fun of the area?

Up there for fun mostly. Never have taken a lake trout out of Tahoe. We generally fish the lakes around Tahoe, as you can get some pretty good action on rainbows, brookies, and an occasional cutthroat. I'm sure one of these days I'll try for a big lake trout. I've seen some in the fishing tackle shop there and they get pretty big.

Stumbled onto a great lake in that area, Stampede Reservoir it is east of Truckee, about 5 yrs ago I was up there fishing for the landlocked salmon and keep seeing these big fish on the lay on the humps (just like lake trout do), that evening I asked some people if there where lake trout in there, no one know. I happen to have some large lures and went after them the next day, 3 laker’s biggest just over 17lbs. When I took them by the sporting good store in Truckee, they all though they came out of Donner, several people told me I was full of shXX when I told them out of Stampede. North side of the lake a lot of underwater fingers about 65ft good fishing. I used T-55 & T-60 Flatfish off a downrigger.

Best of luck
