Alright, so I have a weakness for accurate, custom rifles. I have seen several works of beauty in the pictures on this forum and I wanted to ask those of you who are willing to share a few pictures of your rifles and give a little write-up on what caliber they are, what components you used to build them, and what you like about them. So I will start out:
My favorite three rifles are shown from top to bottom in the pics. The top rifle is a 300 RUM built on a Reminton sendero. I installed and bedded the mcmillan stock. Mears custom rifles of Redding, CA installed the seaberger muzzlebreak and the kepplinger set trigger, set to 2lbs standard and 6oz set. I like the ugly break because it channels alot of the noise and blast away from the shooter. I shoot 190 berger vld bullets with IMR7828 powder for a muzzle velocity of 3315 on the chronograph. The scope is a 6-18 with a custom dial for holdover. This rifle will consistantly shoot sub MOA out to 600yds and I can usually keep 5 shots inside 20 in at 1000yds.
The middle rifle is a 25-06 Ackley imp 40 built on a winchester 670 action with a #4 douglas barrel. The stock is a bell & carlson and the factory trigger is tuned to 3lbs. The scope has a custom reticle installed by Premier Reticles inc. that has holdover and windage dots out to 600yds. The load for this rifle is a 100gr bullet at 3475fps.
The bottom rifle is my old beater 7mag ruger that I bought when I was 16. It is on it's third barrel which is a Pac-nor #4 chambered in 7mm Dakota. This rifle has a boyd's laminate stock inletted and bedded by me and a rifle basics trigger tuned to 3lbs. The scope is a 2.5-8 which is my favorite deer hunting scope. The load for this rifle is 160 Nosler accubond bullets on top of IMR 7828 giving a modest velocity of 3100, but shooting very accurate 1/2-3/4 MOA.
I hope you guys enjoy this stuff as much as me, and I look forward to seeing your favorite big boomers soon!------shooter

This rifle is SWEET. I love the look of this rifle and can only imagine the performance as illustrated by the canoe-headed coyote you posted earlier. Are you shooting the origional sendero barrel? I am still shooting a factory sendero barrel on my 300RUM and it shoots as good as any custom. I also have a 338 in sendero that is a tack driver. Did remington get it right with that rifle or what? Thanks for sharing, I was wondering what that beauty on your posts was.------shooter
