what is the strip? i hunt with a guy here in MS, jeff graves, sometime and couple years ago he drew a tag for the az strip. killed a monster mule deer. made a magizine i believe.. you can google jeff graves mule deer addiction and read about it.... but i always hear folks talking about how hard it is to draw a tag.. what makes this place so great and where is it located? how big of an area is it?

Far N/W corner of Arizona......West of the Kaibab, North of the Colorado River.........I believe it's about 5300 square miles of desolate juniper/cedar type terrain. Not a lot of deer (2000), but probably the best mule deer genetics in the country. Because of the limited amount of tags issued, bucks have a chance to grow older and reach maturity......add good feed and genetics and you have one of the best areas to hunt giant mule deer.

Pretty amazing a buck can put on that kind of headgear. 10sign:

This guy obviously spends a ridiculous amount of money, but man he has killed some massive deer that last few years straight.

That is a PIG!!

Ya know Brett, I know folks will probably always complain about folks like him or Dan Agnew (Check out the bulls this guy has taken) for throwing big money at these hunts. BUT, I will admit it, if I had that kind of money I'd throw it at what I love to do too. I see nothing wrong with guys following their passion. I know I spend a lot of money on hunting and fishing trips, and if you look at it relative to what I earn/save, it would be compareable. Heck, If I earned MORE money I'd throw MORE money at my outdoor pursuits. Wouldn't we all?!

Plus, the money for these state Gov. tags go back into concervation and I'm all for that!
