Seeing a 28" buck and taking a 3x4 that was 25" also is not what I'd call a flop at all.

I think you did quite well, I assume this is a rifle tag and you WILL have plenty of guests hunting near you.

I don't hunt the central unit, not much help there.

Welcome to MuleyMadness and best of luck.

I have a good friend from Delta. He shot a great buck a couple years back and I know it was close to home. Sorry I don't have any more info on it. I will try and get some more for ya.

I dont hunt the unit either, but i'd have to say if i saw a 28" buck and ended up taking a 25" buck then it was a good year. Everyone thinks Utah is just overflowing with monster deer. Certainly one would think that by looking at a lot of the pics that Brett posts up here, but honestly most general season Utah hunters, yes even locals, would consider taking anything over the usual 2x2 a dang good year. Even at that a 2 point is some very good meat in the freezer.

Welcome to the site and i hope you have a fun and successful hunt.

And MOST of the pics I post are from a Limited Entry unit, so yea I'm deceiving many if you think there are bucks like this running around all over the general units. :)

General units are/can be tough hunting in Utah for sure.
