389! Thats a big bull! Utah is finally starting to pump out some big bulls, there were several 400 inchers taken. You never hear much about CA though! There are always Tule elk articles in the Mags, but thats like african game to me! Just big Non-typicals! If you can find a pic of the bull on the net, let us know the link! Ah, welcome again!

This 447 NT, This is the same state as the new guy was talking?? That is a monster bull! I read an article on a 440 or something archery bull, the new NT world record. It was a smoker of a bull that I think came out of AZ. The guy suposedly lucked onto it in an area that was his second choice in the draw! Some people! California elk, hey? Maybe I'll have to check into that one!

Yup, the 447 NT was shot in California on the Tejon Ranch by a rifle hunter. They killed another I heard that scored 427 this last season. Just copy and paste the link below for a view.

Thanks
Both Pope & Young and Boone & Crockett definatley consider the ranch as fair chase. The ranch ranges in elevation from about 2000' to over 8000' and has antelope, bear, mule deer, elk, and tons of wild hogs.
I can only afford to hunt the wild hogs. Since they began shooting monster size elk, I heard it will cost you a tune of at least $12,000 to hunt. Too much for my blood, but when the San Carlos Indian Rez charges $20,000-$25,000, the Tejon is a steal. Especially since the San carlos hasn't put out that quality of a bull in a little while.
