It took 14 years to draw, but this bull, my very first ever, was taken on the LE rifle hunt Sept 17 near Strawberry in Utah. Measured by the DNR,391, now waiting to dry for final score. Who said there are not big bulls on the Wasatch?? Will send pic as soon as I can get it resized. Got to figure that out.
I work and live at Strawberry Bay, I was guided by my bosses, who own the Strawberry Marina and Lodge, also run the Strawberry outfitters and guide service. We were into our 6th day of the hunt, I had seen plenty bulls but had to wait for the right one. I was sitting point watching, late afternoon, when this bull came over the top of the ridge 700 yards away. I had to close the distance quickly. When Paul , my guide said hurry we had to move, closing 200 yards, then he said to take the shot. (498 yards) I was so excited I don't know how I hit but I took 3 shots, missing 1 and the bull dropped. The rest I can't explain. I used a 300 win mag, 180 grain, I just purchased from Cabelas for this hunt.
