Killer,

The bull was indeed taken here in WA with our Gov'ers tag. No "official" score yet although I found reports of anywhere from 451 to 466. In either case it is a BEAST! (Of course, nothing is official until after the drying period)
Here are a few other photos. One is a side view of the bull and the other two are pics of it's sheds from last year.

(For those of you that are wondering, it was fair chase and no high fence bull (As far as I know, we do not have any high fenced operations here in WA).

It could be close to a new world record....the current rocky mtn non-typical B&C scored 465 2/8.

Willysdad,

Not sure of the exact location although it sure looks a lot like the Blue Mountains (SE WA) to me.

It is more certainly not W WA since all we have out there are Roosevelt Elk...and that monster is definitely no "Rosie".

I dare say the sheds would score better than the current rack, could be wrong. they just look bigger

i believe it was in the wenaha wilderness, which would be south eastern corner of washington. and i also "heard" the sheds were 430+/- just the info i got.

The luck hunter was Dan Agnew. He harvested this monster on September 3, 2008 in eastern Washington and it has a green score of 449 gross and 436 net non-typical.

From what I understand, this hunter has at a couple other bulls in the record book, with his other bulls taken on the San Carlos Indian Reservation.

Let's keep this thread as nothing more than a tribute to a great bull elk. After all, this monster deserves the recognition IMO.

I started another thread regarding Governor's Tags/Auction tags for those of you that want to voice thier opinions.

Thanx for telling us what can be discussed, what would we do without your guidance?Telling everyone they cant discuss something here and then starting a thread just to discuss it is a real hypocritical statement. :thumb

LOL....just trying to keep the thread civil so that folks that want to read about the bull have the opportunity to do so without wading through a bunch of "back and forth", my friend. (I've seen way too many good threads quickly turn south that way)

Folks that want to vent, praise, or otherwise discuss the merits of auction tags have an opportunity to do so in the other thread, hence the creation of same.

No hypocrisy here. I simply asked that folks not turn the thread into an opinion-based arguement over these tags and to please do so in the other thread, this way the animal in question can get the recognition it deserves. I then started the other thread, just as I said I would. I fail to see the hypocrisy in any of that.
(Not once did I post my thoughts on these type of tags or hunts)

Lastly, as a moderator on this site, I believe I have the right to monitor the threads and do my best to ensure that they are civil, contrite, and keep within the bounds that Brett has set forth. (Brett, please let me know if I am mistaken here)

I enjoy and welcome your participation in this forum NONYA and would like to see that continue. This is not an attack on you or your beliefs. I am just letting you know why I did what I did. If you have an issue with me or my posts, please PM me and we can discuss same. Again, this way folks that don't want to deal with it do not have to.

Take care. AGCHAWK

seems to me you sure are always to be the first to try and stir SH&^T---

The great mods are what make this site great, the jackarses that pull that crap are what bring others down.

i thought the NEW THREAD to discuss gov tags was a great idea :thumb

Take a look in the mirror before you start pointing your finger.Just seems to me that making that post would start exactly what it said it didnt want, either in this thread or in another, whats the difference? It may have come up here but by starting a new thread dedicated to it it was gauranteed to happen....seems a bit counter productive and completly hypocritical,IMO.

I don't know if anyone else ever found the score on this bull so I looked it up. The lastest thing I could find on the bull what this...
This bull is a 9x10 and green scores 449 gross and 436 net B&C as a non-typical. If this score holds up, he will be the new Washington State record elk.

It's hard to believe an animal can grow that much horn in so little time (???) Unbelieveable..
