5 day pack

How big of pack to you guys use for a 5-7 day pack? Keep in mind this is a load up and go and wont return till 5-7days or with my elk also all my underclothes are under armour so they fold up nice and small usually for food i only pack romenoodles and protein bars but throw in a few extras so i dont eat only one thing and for water I have iodine tablets so water space is not an issue
is 2200 to small?
Thanks

In short.......YES. To bowhunt elk (7) full days in the back country you'll need additional items to carry (survival gear, tent, bag, pad, clothes, food, etc.). I have yet to see a 2200 cu pack handle that amount of gear. I would say you'll need at least a 3500 cu pack......maybe more. Remember, plan for the worst/best......killing an elk. You'll need a bigger pack to manage the several trips needed to successfully pack out an entire elk. JMO

i agree. 3500 is going to be your smallest . i've used a 3200 alot, but i've also evested a few yrs and some extra money in buying the lightest/smallest gear made.

We have used the Badland 4500 for a 5-7 day hunt and this pack worked flawlessly. It can handle all your personal gear and still have room to load up with some meat on the way out!

The Badlands 4500 will really do the trick... Tried to use a 2200 and like what was said above..... It doesn't work! #-o The extra space is necessary. Remember... When you pack it all tidy at home, that is the neatest it's gonna get. After that everything changes.

You'll need better nutrition than ramen noodles. I take Mountain house freeze dried meals. They'll keep you going especially if you kill an elk.
