A Couple of Elk

Here is a video clip of an elk herd I saw this spring. The bulls had already dropped, besides a rag horn at the front of the group, so you won't see any bone. How many elk do you think are in this herd? Enjoy.

PRO, are ya talkin' about the cow right near the middle of the screen? It did look like she was pretty hesitant to move much.

She could have been injured, but I didn't notice anything in the full video when she took off. Man, I am loosing some serious picture quality when I upload the video to Photobucket. I may need to get a faster connection to upload clips.

That is a lot of elk. I saw a herd of about 200 one time in New Mexico and it is always an impressive sight.

My very first year elk hunting I ran into a herd like that but with about 12 big bulls and 20-30 raghorns. I had a cow tag and waited in the middle as at least 200 elk trotted past me, until the last cow came and then hammered her. Ive been hooked for life since then. Can you image a herd of caribou 2,000 long?
