A few from last week

Here are a few picks from last week. Funny story!!! I was walking up to check on my trailcam when I saw a young ruffed grouse, so I thought I would take a picture. Just as I was about to talk the picture something comes flying out of the under growth straight at me. So I started to back up. Next thing I know I see this female Grouse all puffed up wings spread and making this hissing noise. As long as I was moving back she was chasing me. Needless to say that initial attack from the undergrowth scared the crap out of me. Has anyone else been threatened by a mother grouse?

Great pics
Seen plenty of mother grouse with little chicks, but never coming at me. They always seem to be running away, in a slow single file line. I have had them flush out and just about give me a heart attack, but they have always been going the other way.
