The wife and I took off for a little round about this weekend and found a really neat place. If you ever find yourself driving through Kansas on I-70 just west of the I-35 exchange is a place called Rolling Hills Museum and Zoo and it is worth your time to stop and check it out.
The story goes that there was a sale of a warehouse in California of building and contents. The new owner had no use for the junk in the warehouse and gave their agent tens days to discard of it or it would find it's way to the dumpster. Some how the owner of Green Lantern Car washes and Blue Beacon Truck washes who is from Salina Kansas found out about the junk and rescued it.
The contents were a outstanding collection of taxidermy with animals from North America, Africa, Asia, Europe, and Anartica. The museum was built around the collection and is absolutely top notch. The exhibit scenery is very well done complete with animated indigenous figures that tell a story as you go.
Below is a very very small sampling of what I found. Check out the Mule deer buck!

I have to admit that I was so wrapped up in it I only took a few pics. Some of the best stuff I never shot.
Sorry the pic is not clearer but there was not enough flash to capture a sharp image.
great pics
