Alligators in Colorado?

Must be more and more weird people moving to the western slope all the time. Looks like somebody let their pet alligator escape or turned it lose when it got too big to be fun at parties anymore. lol http://www.wildlife.state.co.us/NewsMedia/PressReleases/Press.asp?PressId=6050

That's crazy.

I was watching one of these man up shows on the discovery channel one day about an aligator farm in southern colorado. They have the water rights to some warm springs so they started a fish farm. They use the aligators to eat all of the fish that die off before they can sell them and now they have it set up so that you can go wrestle the gators in their gator wrestling school.

I think that would be one of those "hold my beer would ja? watch this" moments some of us have had during momentary lapses in sanity when impressionable women were present.

I believe it was back in the '50s that the town of Ouray had an alligator pen right next to the public swimming pool. Both were heated by the natural hot springs. The gators survived the winters no problem. The town had a pretty bad flash flood that swept the gators out and none were ever found.

I kind of like to think they are still up there but I'm sure there is no chance of that.
