Am I crazy?

I found this buck this morning on the Utah archery opener. There was one in the same canyon that had better all around forks. I think both bucks could go close to 180". Problem is, I've found about the ugliest freak buck that I've ever seen and have kind of grown attached to it. So I may not even go after this buck. I had a friend with me this morning (with a tag) but we lost track of where the bucks bedded. So we decided to back out and hope to find them another day.

Not crazy at all if you are having fun.

Nice buck.

Yes you are crazy! :) Actually it's more along the lines of a_bow_nut's reply. But that would be hard to not pursue those 2 bucks. Best of luck!

That would be a tough one for me to pass up. We're all crazy, so I don't know how to respond to that.

Crazy = yes in general season areas. The fact that you know where three good bucks to chase in your area says your not crazy, just very lucky(good). I wouldn't have hesitated for a moment going after that buck. best of luck. I too always enjoy your posts.

I am interested to see what this "freak" buck looks like.

He must be one of a kind to pass up a buck like that. I hope you knock the freak down so we can see pics

My agent said that I should hold off on any pics. of the freak for now.
Now that was totally a joke. :))
I don't have any good pictures. I can describe it a little.
It has mass to die for. Probably 7-8" bases
It's about 30" tall but maybe 24" wide.
It has a big droptine and an 8" browtine.
it also has an 12-14" inline
and a few cheaters
I'm guessing it's a very old buck because it has a huge body and a 2x3 main frame.

Here's another buck that our group has decided on letting go this year to see what he does in the next year or two. It's a huge gamble to do this because many bucks don't make it back but with a buck this young and such awesome genetics. We just give him a chance to grow some more. [-o<

That's a sweet buck Ridge, I'm impressed you can let him grow up. Most hunters surely wouldn't do that. Very cool.

Shoot him! Why not?

Why not?
I thought I just explained why. This buck has a chance to becoming something special. Which most bucks just can't do, even in their prime.

Here's another one we're having a hard time walking away from. One of the bigger 3x4s I've seen in along time. He's a solid 28"+ buck.
